für die Hosentasche. Mit "Walk & Ride" für iPod touch und iPhone
steht eine neue Navigationsanwendung für jedermann bereit.
Walk & Ride besticht mit hochdetaillierten Karten - nutzbar auch offline und ohne GPS.
Walk & Ride startet mit Hamburg und bietet in der Folge für München, Berlin, Frankfurt, Köln und Stuttgart nicht nur hochdetaillierte Kartografie, sondern viele zusätzliche Funktionen. Walk & Ride arbeitet komplett offline,
benötigt also keine Internetverbindung um Karten oder die Wegführung
darzustellen - auch in der U-Bahn, in Gebäuden, ohne GPS-Signal und auf
dem iPod touch.
Alle Karten- und Navigationsdaten
werden einmalig geladen und stehen jederzeit zur Verfügung. Der Trick
dabei: Statt die Kartendaten über UMTS/3G bei Bedarf und oftmals
langsam online nachzuladen, wird für die vektorbasierte Lösung nur
wenig Speicher benötigt und das Kartenbild in Echtzeit errechnet.
Die Qualität der Karten und erweiterter Details übertrifft viele bekannte Kartendienste und bietet auch außerhalb von Stadtzentren flächendeckend hochwertige, detaillierten Karten und POIs.
Die Besonderheiten:
- Gebäude und präzise Hausnummern - flächendeckend für die ganze Stadt
- hohe Auflösung und freie Maßstabswahl bis zu 1:500 - "Zoom bis auf den Gehsteig"
- der komplette schienenbasierte öffentliche Nahverkehr mit offline nutzbarer Wegführung - Buslinien folgen mit einem weiteren update
- echte Fussgängergnavigation über viele Fußwege, die in andere Karten fehlen
- hausnummerngenaue Berechnung von drei Routenvarianten für Fußgänger, Nahverkehr und Auto
