Walk & Ride Köln, Stuttgart und Frankfurt sind im Appstore:

Die hochdetaillierte Karte immer dabei: auch im Funkloch, in der U-Bahn und im urbanen Dschungel ohne GPS. Mit Gebäudeumrissen und Fußwegen für die ganze Stadt - nicht nur im Zentrum. Walk & Ride bringt den schienenbasierten öffentlichen Nahverkehr mit S-/U- und Trambahn und offline nutzbaren Routingvorschlägen auch auf den iPod touch.

Buslinien folgen in einer weiteren Version.

Nach den gestrigen updates für Walk & Ride München und Hamburg ist nun auch Walk & Ride Frankfurt in der aktuellen Softwareversion 1.3 in den Appstore eingereicht.

Wenn der review durch Apple wieder so flott geschieht wie bisher, dann gilt auch in Frankfurt "ich hab das Haus nicht gefunden" nicht mehr als Ausrede fürs zu spät kommen - zumindest für die Besitzer eines iPod touch oder iPhone.

• freie Wahl des Maßstabes bis zu 1:500 – perfekt für Fußgänger
• "multimodales" Routing durch den schienenbasierten Frankfurter Nahverkehr für Fußgänger, S-/U- und Trambahn (Buslinien sind in dieser Version noch nicht enthalten)

Auch Stuttgart und Köln darf schon mal die Schuhe neu besohlen - die "Walk & Ride"-Versionen für diese beiden Städte sind nun auch auf dem Weg in den Appstore.

"Walk & Ride" is an upcoming iPhone app that takes hyperlocal maps and onboard routing to the iPhone and iPod Touch. iPod Touch? Sure - this is the other 50% of the installed base and they should have access to sweet maps also.

The short video demos "Walk & Ride" core functionality and makes the case for 'better maps give better apps'. "Walk & Ride" provides always-on pedestrian and public transit navigation, doesn't need (but may use) GPS and comes up with the best map available.
