Google Maps for offline use?
Johannes Sornig reports an offline version of Google Maps and the iPhone for the area of Berlin needing 100 MB for the satellite photograph and 40 MB for the map. Only the the Jiggy Framework is needed (unchecked, no iPhone here).
Besides asking myself why an iPhone user chained to a T-Mobile flat rate I wonder how is dealt with Navteq/Tele Atlas' usage restrictions. Downloading and repurposing sat and map data on stand-alone devices shouldn't be covered. Am I wrong?
